Pilates fitness keeps your body young, fit and full of vitality. Pilates props add challenge and variety to your Pilates fitness routine. Nitty Gritty Fitness offers a wide range of great props for your home Pilates fitness program.

For your floor routines, you'll want a firm, well-cushioned mat to protect your knees, hips, elbows and back. To increase your flexibility and lengthen your muscles, an exercise band will aid in safely holding your stretches without strain. A balance ball has become a standard piece of Pilates equipment because the continuous adjustments required for balancing constantly engage your core muscles.  This increases the level of difficulty and effectivenes of standard floor exercises.  Be sure to choose the correct size ball for your height.  A balance disc has the same advantages of an exercise ball, only in a smaller, more portable product.  Up the level of difficulty by performing some strength and resistance training exercises while sitting on your ball or disc. Try using hand weights, medicine balls, soft-weighted balls, or toning tubes.  Add a Pilates magic ring to the mix to tone and strengthen your arms, chest, hips and thighs.  Use a balance board to build lower body stamina and agility.
